A group of 27 rabbis' wives affiliated with Lehava organization, which works to prevent intermarriage in Israel, published a letter in which they called on Jewish women "not to date Arabs and not to work in places that employ Arabs or serve in the National Service with them."

I despise most Arabs but, unlike the Charedim, they are generally prepared to work and some even serve as loyal members of the IDF.

Charedim certainly won't have a problem with accidental workplace encounters.

The issue of intermarriage is interesting.

If you put a group of three year old Israeli, Turkish, Australian and Chinese children into a room they will invariably end up playing with each other. A few squabbles may break out but under the right supervision the tears will give way to play, noise and testing and then sleepiness. Children naturally do not see the differences in each other. Calcified adults invariably do the opposite.

Conversely to this, even though we are all G-d's children that doesn't mean that we choose just anyone to be our mate.

P.S. Mother-in-laws are the occupational hazard of marriage. I feel for some Jewish men.

but what do we expect from them? what is new in this?
this is what ours kept/keep saying all over the world for ages, centuries and millenias.
From the ultra orth. to MO's to conservative judaism, many of ours are totally secular, but just don't bring a shikse home.

I have seen conservative that drive cars on the sabbath, but the confines of their religion begin and ends with the prohibition to intermarry.
So many rabbis pronounce themselves that intermarriage is worse than hitler. On all 5 continents (including north america) Chabad , Aish & pretty much all rabbis orthodox and conservative alike see their main duty to avoid intermarriage.
In fact chabad, aish and other keiruv people run around the globe to forewarn youth that they are wallowing in chasirai, to stick to their own and avoid the rest of mankind.
We can go back to the talmudic era.
Why the prohibition of yeinam (their wine)?
Lest we get together and drink together & end up marrying their daughters.

Regarding racism,being an Arab isn't a race, just take a look at Egyptians, for example, the range is from whiter than white to darker than dark.
