Out of curiosity, do they help any Jewish causes? In particular, on this board are lots of posts about the poor in Israel, is this one of their causes?
I know there are lots of problems in the world, but you would think a "bake challah" type of charity would have at its core charity to poor hungry Jewish people. How about the homeless Jewish teens that we saw a post for a short time ago, is this on their list?
I could be wrong, but upon a cursory glace I could not find any. I hope I am wrong.

Idiot.
In your sick haredi worldview, only Jews deserve help.
Process:
Challah for Hunger helps Darfur refugees. The other half of what they raise is disbursed locally. Each chapter chooses local charities to support.
Only someone as sick as you could see anything bad in this.
As for hunger in Israel, for the Jews who are hungry – the only group you care about – the vast majority of them suffer from self inflicted hunger. They are haredim who refuse to get secular educations and refuse to work.
The other big group of hungry Jews in Israel are elderly. Israel could fix that problem overnight if haredim were not given yeshiva stipends and welfare for intentional unemployment.
Your community is the root cause of most Jewish hunger in Israel.

Process
This is America, people can give to any charity they wish.
Process
Most people when they hear of a charity called Challah For Hunger (especially when accompanied by a picture of a challah) would assume that the charity is one based primarily on feeding the Jewish hungry.
Process
When I visited the web site it was not clear to me that any Jewish groups were represented (I am not saying those other causes are not worthy).
Process
Therefore I asked a simple question in the nature of disclosure as to what, if any Jewish causes, are getting funds from the proceeds. I did not complain that other causes are represented; I just wanted to know which Jewish charities or groups (if any) will be getting funding.
Process
I am being jumped on because I dare to ask! Geez!
Boy, some open forum this is!

Please.
The website has very clear and specific information which is very easy to find.
Past that, the video you didn't bother to watch explains what they do, and each challah table has that information prominently featured on it.
You are simply a dishonest, sleazy, not-too-bright troll.

Shmarya,
WHY do you give this cretin a platform? This isn't about freedom of speech; all you're doing is empowering the mentally challenged.

Shmarya, I enjoy your blog. I think your criticisms are often valid. But you don't need to be so mean to people, particularly the commenter above. Even if you assume the worst of him and his questions, name-calling doesn't do any good.
It's clear that you're smart, which is why it puzzles me that you speak to people like this. I'm commenting anonymously because I just don't want to bear the brunt of whatever your response might be, but please think about it.

Shmarya, another subset of the hungry in Israel are the Holocaust Survivors. The tragedy is that their hunger is not due to insufficient funds. It's because Israel refuses to disburse the restitution funds that these poor people deserve. These monies were allocated by Germany specifically for the needs of survivors. So in Israel and the US the organizations sit on billions while survivors suffer again needlessly.
