The full interview will air on Talkline with Zev Brenner on Monday night August 16th at 9 PM on WSNR 620 AM.
The is no obligation to eat meat. One can subsist quite nicely on fruit and vegetables. Kosher does not mean they have to be fed brisket, latkes and knishes. Eliminate the animal products and they will almost instantly have the most "mehadrin" diet on the planet at bargain basements cost. It's not like these guys are too busy to boil their own dinner potato and a few root veggies each night.

If I know for certain that I can cut the same deals as both "Rabbi" (FELON)Rubashkin and and the "Rabbi" child fornicator have done so successfully I may be better off in chayder as well than living on the outside paying taxes, reading about daily convictions within the uber frum velt, working and trying to contribute to society in some meaningful way.

Thanks!

why are we objecting? who is making a fuss, other Yidden turning on each other to look good to goyim? Let the goyisher Jew haters say what they want, and we yidden should just stay out of it.

moshe, here's a better idea: OBEY ALL LAWS. Then, there would be no need for anyone to get involved.

When a person is convicted of a crime which requires incarceration they should not be entitled to any special treatment which will cost taxpayers an additional penny or which would entail any deviation from the prison's normal protocol.
A prisoners right to practice his religion should be limited to where it has no effect on other prisoners or those running it.
It is not the government's job to provide you the means with which to practice your claimed religion, just as it is not the govt's job to provide free citizens with those means. It should also be outside of the govt's duty to decide what is a religion, what is an accepted practice within a religion, and what steps it should take to permit an inmate these practices. If a rastafarian claims smoking weed is a religious ritual, why is that less compelling an argument? If I am a member of a religion which I claim requires adherents to eat caviar and steak daily while sipping holy champagne, should I be granted those items as part of religious freedom?
in short, when one engages in behavior which results in the loss of his physical freedom, he should also be prepared for an abridgement of his religious freedom, when it requires others' assistance.

A MODEST PROPOSAL: Allow haredi violators to elect to be toilet cleaners, floor sweepers and dish washers at Jewish schools and synagogues. Actually, they'd formally be sentenced to daytime work release, with the accommodating agency being haredi. At night, they'd have to spread their bedroll out at the pokey.
This would solve two problems: they can pray and take their main meals with fellow haredim, thereby getting govt out of the religion business. And they'd be shamed as drawers of water and hewers of wood within their home communities. Of course, this would work best if they had to wear striped livery identifying them as "CONVICT" with a number for the name tag. A יוצא ונכנס government inspector (e.g., a parole officer) would visit unannounced to make sure the terms of the work release were being complied with fully, and there would have to be defied strictures mandating that the work be strictly menial and that no honors are accorded the inmate on punishment detail.
The school and synagogues would benefit from the free or near free labour, and they would have the opportunity to present a living moral lesson on why crime does not pay.
On the whole, getting folks out of prison on work details would be an excellent use of presently-wasted resources.

"Do Jewish Prisoners Have The Right To Special Super-Glatt Kosher meals?"
Any chareidi pederast who doesn't mind sticking his turgid filthy (and undersized) shvontz into a child's rectum forfeits any right whatsoever, and certainly the right to pick his own food, except he does maintain the right to receive black and arab male member shtoopy in his own poop shoot without the aid of a lubricant. Said arab or black male may finish himself off in said chareidi's mouth if he so chooses.

For sure the personnel will put boogers, spit, and other additives in their holy food and there is not one fucking thing they will be able to do about that. Best they just don't eat at all.

MH, why are you discriminating against prison members of the White Aryan Nation, who may also wish to avail themselves of the holy Satmar sphincter? Perhaps a lottery can be arranged to decide who gets firsts, seconds and thirds.

"or sure the personnel will put boogers, spit, and other additives in their holy food"
This would be a mitzva - a good deed - on the part of any guard.

AEA is proposing that those already serving prison sentences for child molestation have access to more child victims as punishment...
Posted by: effie | August 16, 2010 at 08:09 PM
WSC, I stand corrected. The ABers are welcome to avail themselves. If Lebovitz does ever go free he will be the laughing stock in the mikva, what with boobs tattooed on his back symbolizing his time in prison as the hoiz bitch.

The is no obligation to eat meat. One can subsist quite nicely on fruit and vegetables.
I assume that this is an argument against giving meat to all prisoners.

I say that they should all go to jail, and feed them as much Kosher (and Glatt) food as they want. (well, not all, I am not a self-hating jew...)
Soon they will be volunteering to go there (or doing a crime just to get in there - yes, white collar crime is ok, my Rabbi said...) so they can join the new community (not to mention the free food, support etc).

Are muslims entitled to halaal food in US prisons?
Posted by: al Farabi | August 17, 2010 at 10:13 AM
Yes.
Posted by: Shmarya | August 17, 2010 at 10:14 AM
Islam is not a religion it is a hate group. And halal food stinks like rotten shys.

+++Islam is not a religion it is a hate group++++
Every religion is, when interpereted with emphasis on the right parts.

Prison rape is not a joke! People who take delight imagining prison rape on anyone (regardless how despicable the criminal) are sicko in the head.
People are sent to prison AS punishment, not FOR punishment.

Well, then I guess it is not unreasonable that jewish prisoners be given kosher food.
Posted by: al Farabi | August 17, 2010 at 02:53 PM
As far as I am concerned, these Haredi ought to eat McDonald's. If they are so mikpid about food, they should have been even more fussy about respecting the law of the land / and the not violate the rights of their fellow human beings. Ethical precepts are more important than ritual ones.

Nathan Rothschild has a very high stake in the ultimate outcome of this issue.
Posted by: Mr. Apikoros | August 17, 2010 at 07:51 PM
Chicago Sam, you are absolutely right, however, if the law of the land is that prisoners belonging to other cults are provided with special diets, then members of the jewish cult should also be entitled. Ideally, however, these ridiculous dietary requirements should be ignored across the board.
Posted by: al Farabi | August 18, 2010 at 01:35 AM
Al Farabi I agree, however I think the Satmere deserves to eat drek.
Posted by: Chicago Sam | August 18, 2010 at 07:34 AM
Well, "Kosher" should be sufficient, by preference with a strict Orthodox rabbi doing the determining whether the prisoner is Jewish and a female one determining what's kosher.
Posted by: Teddy | August 18, 2010 at 10:50 AM
Drek is for the Gayrear hassidim

Posted by: al Farabi | August 18, 2010 at 01:01 PM
Ok, then roasted drek ought to be served to Satmere Hasidim in jail, with popcorn drek for the Lubas in prison as well.
