The name "Justin Long" sounds like a porn star's name.

How can an ORTHODOX family ever see a non-Jewish video? HMMMMMMMFFFF.
Posted by: rebeljew | August 26, 2010 at 02:49 PM
Why did an orthodox family agree to let their home be used for a movie shoot, when they knew nonkosher food and nonkosher activity would go on there?
Oh yeah, they did it for money.
Posted by: WoolSilkCotton | August 26, 2010 at 05:19 PM
when they knew nonkosher food
If you listened to the interview you would have heard that they did not know that non-kosher food was being prepared and made them buy a new grill and utensils.
I would hazard a guess that all they were told was that they were using the apartment for a shot and did not share the script with them.

What a fool you are, Harold.
Several dozen members of a film crew- total strangers- will spend a week in your home shooting a film while you're away, and you don't think any nonkosher food is being brought in?
If you're really orthodox, and you are meticulous about everything allowed into your home- food and otherwise- as you should be, why do you allow a profession major film studio to use your home for several days for a film production?
It amazes me what gyrations you are willing to go through to justify every stupid (or criminal) act committed by a frummer.

You are right, then the only conclusion based on your arguments are that they really weren't Orthodox at all. Because Justin Long declares them as Orthodox does not mean that they are.
Good point! Sometimes we take people's word too quickly, after all what does Justin Long know about Orthodox jews?

That bit of circular reasoning is known as the "No True Scotsman Fallacy."
Does idiocy run in your family, 'Harold'? Or are you this dense on purpose?

We hereby incorporate by reference the punchline that at least there was no mixed dancing.
Bassy - the O-U declares many bathroom cleaners kosher for Pesah AND year round

/ So that when the tension becomes so bad and some yells "Eat shit and die!" they'll know the toilet is kosher.

No, just having some fun!
It was WSC's comment that I was playing with ->

Get with the program!

You are wrong as usual, Harold, and this time you're really dense.
The orthodox family should have known better than to allow this film to be made in their home. Obviously their discovery of the nonkosher food being cooked on their grill caused them a big problem.
I guess the money got in the way of thinking about their religion ahead of time.
Who knows if they'll find out about what else went on, as described. The only good thing is that nobody watches George Lopez.

I saw Paysach Krohn use a dining room table, with a guy's "junk" all over the place. I never saw a baby cry as much.

What a disgusting breach of trust in someone else's home.
Posted by: David | August 27, 2010 at 01:30 AM
That's plainly disgusting.
Conclusion: don't let a film crew into your house.
Posted by: soso | August 27, 2010 at 08:54 AM
Shame on the couple for letting the rubbish of Hollywood (and most of it is rubbish) into their home.
