Orthodox And Hasidic Voters Most Unfavorable To Obama
United States President Barack Obama has lost nearly half of his support among American Jews, a poll by the McLaughlin Group has shown.
The US Jews polled were asked whether they would: (a) vote to re-elect Obama, or (b) consider voting for someone else. 42% said they would vote for Obama and 46%, a plurality, preferred the second answer. 12% said they did not know or refused to answer.
In the Presidential elections of 2008, 78% of Jewish voters, or close to 8 out of 10, chose Obama. The McLaughlin poll held nearly 18 months later, in April 2010, appears to show that support down to around 4 out of 10.…
Among Orthodox/Hassidic voters, 69% marked 'someone else' vs. 17% who marked 're-elect.' Among Conservative-affiliated voters the proportion was 50% to 38%. Among Reform Jews, a slim majority of 52% still supported Obama while 36% indicated they would consider someone else. Among Jews with family in Israel and those who had been to Israel, about 50% said they would consider someone else, while 41%-42% supported Obama.
Fifty percent of the Jewish voters polled said they approved of the job Obama is doing handling US relations with Israel. Thirty-nine percent said they disapproved.…
This is a McLaughlin Group poll reported by Arutz Sheva, so take these results with a very large grain of salt.
"Consider voting for someone else."

Well, it's good to know that the pro-Obama loons still drinking the kool-aid I see so often in the Orthodox world really only account for such a small number.
By the way, Shmaryah, the McLaughlin Poll is not the same thing as the McLaughlin Group.

They're both run by men named John McLaughlin. The one running the poll is much younger.

If I was a citizen of the USA, the fact that orthodox jews opposed OBama, would be enough to make me vote for them, and this would be testimony enough that he is a man with integrity, something that is sadly not valued by haredi jews.

that of course should read "vote for him"

al Farabi is correct. This is probably a good thing for Obama. And when one hears a statement like Nachum's, that is all the confirmation one needs.
This is all a replay of the WWI era in Germany, where the Jews were also the far right wing hawks, till they were kicked in the tuchus.

What tripe. Note that "vote to re-elect Obama" and "consider voting for someone else" are not mutually exclusive options. Why wouldn't any voter consider voting for someone else, over two years before the election? It depends on who that someone is. If it's Sarah Palin or her ilk, that 78% Jewish vote for Obama is going to remain rock-solid.

Obama is just a bad president like Bush. There have been very few good presidents.

Of course the right-wing of Judaism has no use for a centre/left president. Bush could not have been more palatable to them if he grew payess and wore a shtriemel.
