Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein Says Threatened By Elon's Family
Religious-Zionist rabbi's life threatened for revealing sexual harassment case
Kobi Nahshoni • Ynet
Rabbi Aharon Lichtenstein, who is among the religious-Zionist Takana forum members who revealed sexual harassment claims against Rabbi Mordechai Elon, claims his life has been threatened.
"I received a letter full of threats from a relative of Rabbi Elon, who said he would hurt me in any way possible," he told his students at Har Etzion yeshiva while at times bursting into tears. "This is the reward we have received for long hours of meetings held by important people."
Arutz Sheva is reporting the threats were legal threats, not death threats, and quotes Rabbi Lichtenstein as saying:
"I want to clarify that the threat in question was not a threat of physical violence but a legal threat."
[Hat Tip for the Arutz Sheva update: a reader.]
who said the talibans are the sole domain on the moslems? we have everything domestically raised.
talibans, wahabis, terrorists, violents. i would recommend soul searching to haredis and datis leumis if there was a fragment of a soul left.
kisdom hayinu, laamora daminu!

rabbi lichtenstein confirms that this report is false. he did not receive death threats, rather simply legal threats:

a.reader, he was still threatened.
Our religion is going to the dogs and it's really sad to see.

If a bet din decides for one against the other, no one can say they are protecting so-and-so because he's a rabbi, because if these legal "threats" are carried out by bringing this case to court with all its details, it is rabbi against rabbi.

On the contrary, there's finally a wee bit of light. Perhaps one day we might even be proud of it again. Maybe.

As long as Rav Lichtenstein is alive, our religion has not gone to the dogs...may he live long and show us the way to honesty and decent behavior as he has done all his life...

yeah sure. So Rav Lichtenstein and the others make Elon promise to never do it again when they first find out about his homosexuality, then finally go public AFTER other cases come to light. I wonder if the victim had been Rav Lichtenstein's own son if his reaction and that of the Takana others would have been to protect Elon? rabbis are like police and others- they always protect their own as long as possible.
