b) He hopes the late Lubavitcher Rebbe will intercede with G-d on his behalf and he will get off with a light sentence because he is a first time offender (so were Madoff and any number of others).

Got to give Scott credit, he found a way to get a couple of dollars (and a laptop) from some of his followers (his chassidim - the FailedMessiahnics). He made it clear that he has no intentions of returning any of the monies collected if he does not wind up going to the trial.

Listen the monies collected should keep him going for a while. I don't quite know what is his allowance, but at $8.95/mo he should be ok for a while.

Probably the first time and the last time he touched it. I have no problems with defendants bring *a* religious object, so long as it is not flashed around in court or kept on counsel table so the jury can see it.

He will "affirm," not swear, on a Hebrew Bible, probably a Chitas, which is a Chabad book that contains the Five Books of Moses, Psalms, a prayer book, and the Chabad text Tanya.

"Prosecutors called on one of Rubashkin's boyhood friends, a Brooklyn, N.Y. clothing store owner who initially refused to testify but was granted immunity and threatened with contempt of court if he didn't cooperate. Eleazer Meyer looked at an invoice of more than $44,000 from Agriprocessors to his clothing store, The Right Place, and said he didn't recognize it."

The Right Place is located on 18th Avenue in Borough Park.
