As I posted before, this person would be much better served, if she began a fund-raising effort to benefit the City of Postville and its Citizens.
Posted by: sage | September 25, 2009 at 08:43 AM
I actually feel bad for her, I really do.
Posted by: itchiemayer | September 25, 2009 at 09:19 AM
Any donation is not tax deductable! I wonder wht percentage of the money is actually going to his attorney. This guy is going to do about 72 months in prison. The government is still looking into RICO and might file sometime in mid-December. I wonder why she did not say the prosecution was anti-semetic. i thought these people blame everything on anti-semitism
Posted by: paul | September 25, 2009 at 09:20 AM
Hi Paul,
Do you have a reliable source re: RICO?
It's something many of us on this site have been praying for, for a very long time.
Posted by: sage | September 25, 2009 at 09:29 AM
A Very reliable source!!!
Posted by: paul | September 25, 2009 at 09:32 AM
Paul –
The donations are run through two religious nonprofits.
As far as I know, people are claiming tax deductions for their donations.
Posted by: Shmarya | September 25, 2009 at 09:33 AM
Thank you for your blessngs. i suggest you call Rubashkin in Bklyn, and ask for money he has from all his mis-adventures.
Posted by: Pelican | September 25, 2009 at 09:34 AM
Many thanks, Paul !!!!!!
Let's hope, that the RICO Indictments are handed down on schedule, and include, G-d willing, some against the OU, Weissmandl, KAJ and all other entities, that aided and abetted the RCF criminal activities.
Posted by: sage | September 25, 2009 at 09:36 AM
Shmarya;
If a person donates money to these nonprofits, and they are aware or stipulate that the funds are to be used for his defense and then claim them as a deduction that is most certainly illegal. Please forward to me, on this site, the names of the nonprofits and any legal information you regarding them. There are many excuses the nonprofits will use, but it is very simple if you donate to them with the knowledge they are being used for a profitable activity, his defense, then you may NOT claim them

The National Committee For The Furtherance of Jewish Education.
Yated Ne'eman in Monsey, NY has a fund, as well.
Posted by: Shmarya | September 25, 2009 at 10:12 AM
The Aleph Institute in Miami, FL, as well.
Posted by: Shmarya | September 25, 2009 at 10:12 AM
Hi again, Paul.
I believe your analysis is correct, and, if the documentation you have requested from Shmarya is posted, then consideration might be given to contact the IRS Fraud Hotline.
Posted by: sage | September 25, 2009 at 10:16 AM
I am currently writing this while flying across the country, so please forgive the lack of grammer. Please post as much information as you have regarding these activities and i will look into it this weekend. I will provide a contact email as well.

My heart is filled with pity for this poor woman, who shnorrs now for her father's legal defense fund, so he can be free to pay for her husband's legal defense.

+++ What next, a reality show for her and the kids? +++
The only reality show that would be meaningful, is for her to get off her butt, visit Postville, and witness the utter suffering and injustice that her family has inficted on it and its Citizens over the past 20 years.
If this does not lead her to any measure of compassion, what can any of us say?

Haredim in Boro Park, Flatbush and other places are using the non-profit for everything from paying for yeshiva education, weddings, bar mitzvas, vacations etc even for purchasing luxury cars (vehamvin yavin)
The money laundry via non profit organizations is only the tip of the iceberg and hopefully the feds will attend to it one day.

Maybe someone should talk to the IRS and suggest that they assign someone to do full-time monitoring of this web site.
Certainly, it would give the IRS Fraud Division plenty of very wothwhile work to do.

I can't believe they posted this video on Matzav. I thought they don't show any women's pictures on that site, especially videos? I guess when it suits them, they can change their own rules. What hyocrites! Now they are selling THEIR filter where they can pick and choose which sites are "kosher". The home page will surely be their pathetic blog where SMR's picture and pidyon shvuyim fraud is permanently pasted.

Friends, It is 100% legal to have "Donor advised" charities. Fideluty even has a donor advosed charitable investment account. when you put money in it is tax deductable and ONLY you can direct where the money goes! (it needs to be 501 c 3)
so if the fund that receives the gis 501 c 3 and it is set up to give out charity money and does not make any profits, then the donor can advise that it is to help SMR even if you don;t think it is a worthy cause it is 100% legal. As long as its a charitable non-profit. Also the NFP corp is allowed to pay salaries f it chooses to its employees. I don;t think anyone should be so down on the Haredi NFP's before they research some of the secular ones like for example....Best Western Corp! the hotel chain or Blue cross blue sheild......!

The only thing that concerns me is if the IRS would consider paying the legal bills of someone charged with criminal activity a charity. Lets say no one in Crown Heights or Borough Park is moved by this cause except for members of the defendent's family. They will probably give him money for his legal bills anyway. But this way, they can get a tax write off. If Congress didn't figure this out already, they should.

Her husband also under the trial for kids sexual abuse. It makes me cool to see how this richy, snobic JAP, that just recentelly was the super-elite of frum world go to be now daugther of one inmate and wife of another. Good begining!

Awwww... she is so sweet and naive. I noticed frequent breaks in the editing. Is that when she is being coached on her next statement? She knows no other way and is at the mercy of a male-dominated society she cannot question and therefore probably only privy to the positive highlights of her sect's activities. Statements about her father's philanthropy in the NY area are probably for the most part true and consistent with how he treats his peers. But the empathy stops there. So sad to have such a narrow-minded view of the world.

Everybody that speak in fawor of Rubashkins repeat again and again how kind they are with their fellow jews, how much tzdoka, ahnasas orhim, bla bla bla. However, it does not answer the question whether Rubashkin is a criminal or whether he is not. I am confident that the Big Fathers of Italian Mafia also very kind with their fellow Italian catholics.
Posted by: Russian PhD | September 26, 2009 at 09:00 AM
f..., it's amazing, that even now, when her world is crushing to the pieces, this spoiled JAP cannot remove this snobbish elitist mask from her face.

loving the piano ditty going on the background. They only need $500,000.
I wonder if they take monopoly money? I have some left over.

Maybe she can borrow the half million from the Free Loan Society.
Or maybe hold another Chabad telethon.
Meanwhile, my check is in the mail.
Russian PhD: the Italian Mafia is indeed known for their charity and generosity in their own neighborhoods, hospitals and churches. Plenty of ass-kissers are more than happy to take their filthy blood money donations and sing their praises, just like the pathetic Lubavitchers do with the Rubashkins.

This brings to memory, the scene in one of the "Godfathers" movies, where Dom Corleone is attending his grandaughters' Baptism in Church, at the same time that half a dozen of his "enemies" are being murdered, on his orders.
So, all the time (~20 years), that the RCF was dispensing charity to it's own, the City of Postville was being slowly murdered as an Iowan City, on orders from AR, SMR and HR.

While I detest the many horrible things that happened at Agriprocers and am no fan of the Rubashkins, I still have rachmunes for her. No need to call her names, as a few of you have done. She is horribly misguided, but a total victim of the environment in which she was raised. It doesn't make her a bad person. It's just a shame, it really is.
Posted by: itchiemayer | September 27, 2009 at 01:29 AM
Itchie, she is an adult with a brain. Mafia wives and daughters know their men are criminals, but keep quiet because they like the ill gotten gains. She can look the other way, stand by her men, and try to raise money for the legal bills, but she cannot claim that her family is innocent of any wrongdoing.

I tend to agree with your observations.

She was around 22 or so when she moved into a $320,000 house in a nice neighborhood, had two cars, furnished it and can afford to have a child every year and a half. Mafia wives live in nice homes, have furniture, etc. I can't feel bad for her. Roza Weiss lived off the pain of others by taking her father's money.
