Rubashkin Wants Child Labor Charges Dropped
Accuses government of misconduct.
Attorneys for Sholom Rubashkin and other former Agriprocessors managers filed a second motion to dismiss the case Thursday. Rubashkin and others are charged with more than 9,000 counts of child labor violations.
In the motion to dismiss, his attorney accuses the government of misconduct. The accusation is based on an Iowa Department of Labor investigation at Agriprocessor's prior to last year's immigration raid.
Rubashkin's attorney claims during that investigation, Rubashkin asked the state to identify and remove minors working at the plant but the state refused in order to further its immigration investigation.
What has taken the Golem's lawyers this long to come up with this?

Just another cockamamie delaying tactic.
Incredulous: Asking the state to remove the illegal child laborers is an indirect admission of being guilty for hiring them in the first place.
Y&1/2, a recent post of yours saying that just when we feel we have seen it all from the RCF, something new always appears.
A massive documentary really needs to be made on this.

As I see it, Sholom will be in court, almost daily, for the remainder of his natural life.

Next he's going to say that some Federal agents passed gas on purpose during the May 12th raid. Releasing a noxious substance is a misdemeanor in many jurisdictions.

Good one CPN:
Let me further add one comment to yours!
At which time he will descend into the depths of hell for what he has done to mankind!!
By the way, is there a "For Sale" sign in Sholom's front yard yet? I suppose we as a town would never get that lucky....
Whom would ever buy the ones with signs in front of them, they should be bulldozed!

This is the same as the illegal aliens. "We did'nt know they were illegal." Just a few years prior, they struck down a union issue on the basis that the vote consisted of illegal aliens. WTF!!!!

It wouldn't be surprising that a year from now SMR will be back at the plant with a fist full of illegals. Is justice really this slow or is there some reason why this particular group is taking sooooo long. A prediction is that the charges will be filed in the trash and picked up in the fall "big garbage pick-up day (October)." Did anyone really believe there is justice, and the Catholic church is still supporting these women with ankle bracelets ($80,000) a month. Where are the big Hispanic groups from California????
There is a box of rocks in my garage, and anyone who buys one of these destroyed houses can have it--"dumb as a box of rocks." Get it?????

Immigration issues are out of the State's juristiction. They can assist with enforcement as a contributing agency.

wish the Gorden, Nebraska plant could be sold seperately so at least those people could move on with their lives. and it would free up some money for creditors elsewhere.

Of course Rubushkin wants child labor charges dropped and all the rest of the charges dropped. Does Daddy Warbucks have enough money to buy the Federal govt. and the State govt. to obtain the release of these charges? Waiting until Sept. is not a good for those wanting this to be closed. It just gives more time to RCF to organize and move forward. What about the money owed to the local businesses?? Will they ever see any of it? What about the people who have medical bills and no insurance because the company didn't pay the premiums? Is this all forgotten? Rubashkin wants, big deal, others want too.

Next SMR will be saying its the banks fault for his bank fraud charges, and will want those charges dropped too, because the "banks didn't tell me I was doing anything wrong!". Instead of facing this like a man, he will be playing it out like a kid.
