they either edited it, or you were in a very charitable mood. It is tame by your standards.

A play on "Sympathy for the Devil" by Guns n' Roses, from the "Interview with the Vampire" soundtrack. The original is by the Rolling Stones.

Please allow me to introduce myself
Im a man of anti-religious taste
Ive been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith
And I was round when other Chabadnik BTs
Had their moments of doubt and rebellion
Made damn sure that Rubashkin
Washed his profits and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around St. Paul
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed any chance for Aaron's Best
Then Getzel blogged in vain
I "rode" a helicopter on my xBox
Held an armchair general's rank
When the May 12th raid raged
And the carcasses stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your shochtim & bodkim
Slaved for ten decades
For the treif they made
I shouted out,
Who killed the Holtzbergs?
When after all
It was al Qaeda and me
Let me please introduce myself
Im a man of anti-religious taste
And I laid traps for people I falsely accuse of being Meshichistim
Who get killed in Bombay (former name of Mumbai)
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But whats confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every Republican is a criminal
And all the Liberals saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Scotty luciferberg
cause Im in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy chump change & click the Paypal tab
Have some sympathy, and some caustic taste
If you have any faith
I'll lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, whats my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, whats my name
I tell you one time, youre to blame
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah

You know Major league sports teams do the fire and rehire at lower wage all the time and no one ever voices concern over it. It is just business. But when Agri does it you call it unfair labor practices. Both are unfair labor practices. I guess Millionaires taking a pay cut is easier to support than poor people. And by the way $9 a hour around here is what city workers get to start. Not a unlivable wage. The real crime was the outlandish rent charged per person not per house and the questionable car payments being taken out of the checks. That is the legacy of a old fashioned company town. One the Unions of this country worked very hard to get rid of.

Archie: Not bad.
Posted by: Yochanan Lavie | May 12, 2009 at 03:16 PM
That sports team analogy is horrible. Name one league, let alone team, that does that.
Posted by: ML | May 12, 2009 at 05:16 PM
Who would have guessed that our Archie was a GNR fan? Are you going to do a version of Van Halen's "Running with the Devil" next (or perhaps "Scotty's Crying" off the same album)?
Or are we going to form a black-hat metal band?
Posted by: maven | May 12, 2009 at 05:33 PM
Maven: The theme song of the Sutton (Satan) Place Synagogue is: Davening with the Devil.
Posted by: Yochanan Lavie | May 12, 2009 at 06:23 PM
Arguably, ZZ Top already beat us to the punch with black hat metal.
Posted by: Archie Bunker | May 12, 2009 at 06:42 PM
Wow, the comparison with major league sports is absolutely ignorant. However, when you have to apologize for something as pathetic as the RCO, you have to latch on to anything you can grab, however pathetic.

AB- There were some guys at Bobov who had beards almost as cool as those of ZZ Top, but only almost. Of course, no one at Bobov listens to metal anymore. My relatives showed me the ipods they buy fully loaded on 13th Ave, and they were full of rap in German!
YL: good one!

Maven: thanks.

Give me all your davenin' (apologies ZZ Top):
I got to have a shot of the kiddush wine that's oh so sweet.
You got to make it hot, like the amidah I need a repeat,
Gimme all your davenin', all your schucklin' and kashrut too,
Gimme all your davenin', don't let up until we're through,
You got to whip it up and hock me like a ton of tchinek,
If I blow my keppie, will you let it go to your Chabadnik?
Gimme all your davenin', all your schucklin' and kashrut too,
Gimme all your davenin', don't let up until we're through,
You got to move it up and use it like a Dewball [vodka & Mt. Dew] would.
You got to pack it up, work it like a Pirchei boychick should.
Gimme all your davenin', all your schucklin' and kashrut too,
Gimme all your davenin', don't let up until we're through,

At the vigil commemorating the anniversary of the ICE raid at Agri, Rabbi Darryl Crystal of Chicago, IL spoke. He addressed the question-
What is G_d calling us to do?
Found within his message were these heartfelt, profoundly expressed words-
'As a Rabbi, I am charged to say that the actions of Agriprocessors and every employer who abuses immigrants are an abomination. Last July when over 1,000 people came to Postville, the plant displayed a Chanukah menorah which represents freedom and G_d's blessing. Their exploitation of children and workers desecrated this symbol.
We come together today as a people of many religions and of diverse heritage to answer Isaiah's call . . .'

hopefully if people from the Postville who read this know of residents who might allow some of their yard space to be used for gardening by women with alkle bracelets or men released from prison kept here to testify, they will share that info with others. It was sad last fall to see the changes in some people's eyes after going through this experience. The book "Growing Home" can be obtained through interlibrary loan, stories of ethnic gardening. It has chapters about people from Guatemala and from Mexico. -- It was interesting ro read in the Postville chapter of the "Boychicks in the Hood" book that a former Postville clergyman had a Jewish grandfather and great-grandfather who emigrated from Germany before 1900. That he would participate in some Saturday morning activities with the Jewish communnity.

I like the title of this post. Is it to be followed by Failed Messiah--The Movie or Failed Messiah Strikes Back?
Posted by: David Bar-Magen | May 13, 2009 at 09:06 AM
I think "Failed Messiah -- The Flame Thrower" (you know the kids just love that one) is most appropriate. ;)
Posted by: ML | May 13, 2009 at 10:19 AM
s--there is free garden space provided and tilled by the city. It is across the tracks on the NW side of town. Anyone interested can talk to personnel at City Hall to get the details. The govt needs to have the trials so people can get on with their lives and recover from the abuse at the plant.
