Editor's Note: In recent months The Jewish Press published two articles by Amy Neustein the first a ,feature piece in the Family Matters section, the second an op ed column in which she recounted her longstanding allegations that her ex husband abused their daughter. Ms. Neustein's daughter, Sherry Orbach, requested this opportunity to respond.

Although I have not seen my mother, Amy Neustein, in sixteen years, I remember her clearly. She claims the reason she repeatedly accused my father in the media of sexually abusing me was to gain custody rather than fame. Yet when she did have custody of me long before the legal battles began I remember her voluntarily sending me off to live with my grandmother in upstate New York, after which I rarely saw her.

I remember, on one of my rare visits to my mother's house in Brooklyn, watching her softly stroking her hair with an antique silver brush as she gazed at herself in her bedroom mirror and wondered out loud whether she was pretty enough to be famous.…

The truth, however, is that my father never sexually abused me, and that reporters and alleged victims' advocates who supported my mother chose to retell her lies without adequately checking the facts.…~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This conference parallels the one from UTJ's to be held on March 15. Following the above link will hopefully educate interested observers as to the complexities involved on so sensitive an issue.

three items about Sherry. Item 1 was an article written by Amy Neustein's daughter, Sherry, in the Jewish Press. Item 2 was an article written by Village Voice's reporter, Elizabeth Dwoskin, where Sherry is interviewed. Item 3 is Sherry's bio from the Law Firm where she works. I am a friend of many years of Sherry yet "Archie Bunker" says that I am an apologist for "Mr. Orbach" (actually "Archie" it is "Dr"). As I said before, total denial as to what Sherry had or has to say. Amazing!

1. Sherry could have been manipulated against her mother, something not uncommon for an abuse victim.

2. Even if the mother is a liar, there was a criminal conspiracy to cover up indiscretions of the father and his accomplices. Several legal & health professionals know this and even Gov. Patterson is aware of the details and believes this.

It may also be in Sherry's best interest to reach out to her mother. Even if the mother is delusional, a reconcilliation could stop her public campaign.

so let me get this straight. In order to end the mother's public campaign, Sherry has to give in to her mother's demands to see her. Can you spell the word "blackmail"? Additionally Patterson is allowing himself to be honored by Ohel at their annual dinner this year. Yet Patterson has accused Ohel in the past of being part of the conspiracy to deprive Neustein of her rights.I guess Patterson likes to play both sides of the fence.This is the same Amy Neustein who went to Federal Court in Syracuse NY accusing OHel of trying to see her daughter for $100,000(case was summarily dismissed) If Neustein and Lesher are so certain of their cause, then let them display on their web sites all of the Courts' decisions so that the public can see for themselves which side has the greater merit. That would include the decision finding Amy Neustein guilty of child neglect, the decision giving the father custody, the decision denieing Neustein a transfer of custody from the father to her and the decision suspending her visitations with her daughter-a decision which she never went back to court to have rescinded for nearly ten years until her daughter was one month away from turning 18.

Patterson, like virtually any politician, is a whore who knows where his bread is being buttered from.

It's not surprising that the philanderer is ignoring what he previously stated on the record to go kiss derrieres at Ohel.

This is the same reason why Shelly Silver has killed anti-molester legislation so many times that it was introduced in the NYS legislature.

Susan Green can continue to cite court cases but it has already been proven that some corrupt judges were gotten to by friends of Jerry Orbach at the National Council of Young Israel and elsewhere.

If everything is put on the table as Susan Green demands, it looks a lot more fishy (as in rotten fish) how some judges and Jewish organizational officials have acted badly and broken laws.

I am not promoting "blackmail" I do not know either side in the Orbach dispute but it seems clear that Neustein will probably never cease her campaign unless she resumes contact with her daughter for the first time in decades. So in other words, Susan Green thinks that that Sherry should never reach out to her mother to prove a point, no matter how much negative publicity the case receives.

Actually the evidence shows that the only person who may have tried to pay off someone was Neustein herself-who allegedly offered money to the agency investigating the charges of abuse(that Neustein had initiated herself) so that they would drop their investigation. If the judges in this case were presumably corrupt, their decisions would have been overturned by the higher courts. The only court this case have not come before is the Supreme Court of the United States. All of the highest state and federal courts in New York State have heard the case and found that it was in the best interests of the child that Neustein not have custody. Additionally,after the case was over, the main judge involved in the case came up for judicial reappointment-the case was reviewed by Mayor Dinkins judicial review committe and the judge was unanimously reappointed for another ten year term(he was not thrown out of office as Neustein has so deceptively stated in the past). This is the same Mayor Dinkins who Neustein claims promised to try to help her get her child back in exchage for Neustein blasting antisemetic statements against the Crown Heights community(see Jewish Voice and Opinion Nov 2008).And Neustein admits to have cooperated with Dinkins by making statements critical of the Crown Heighs Jewish community(www.jewishvoiceandopinion.com). The only problem with Neustein's story is that the Crown Heights riots took place in August of 1991(three years after the last Family Court decision was rendered). In terms of reaching out, Neustein could have had a relationship with her daughter if she had stopped invading her privacy. But as the Court stated in its decision, Neustein's priority lies in becoming famous-she is a true narcisist(as the Court so found and as the article in the Village Voice confirms). Even if her daughter were to decide to meet with Neustein, the publicity would not end.And even if it did end, it would still be up to Sherry to decide whether she wants a relationship with her mother. Such relationships cannot be forced. At least Archie bunker admits that he knows very little about the case. Again I would challenge Lesher and Neustein to print all of the Court's decisions in their entirety on their web sites and let the public decide who is in the right. Of course, even this probably wouldn't stop conspiracy theorists like Amy Neustein and Michael Lesher. For them, the only way to beat a conspiracy is through more publicity.

Is that the best that the Deutsch-Mostofsky team can do, citing the backing of a former mens room attendant's "judicial review"? That man in lieu of a mayor, David Dinkins, is labeled by the Wall Street Journal as the worst leader in American history. And the Village Voice (best known for kinky sex ads) does not "confirm" anything.

Susan Green's smear of Michael Lesher is especially obnoxious. And as far as Neustein criticizing the community, many have done that out of frustration thanks to corrupt organizational heads who drove them to desperation. Maybe Neustein is nuts. Maybe Neustein is even the villain in all of this. I don't know for sure. What I do know is that there is a lot more evidence so far pointing to the guilt of Jerry Orbach and his supporters.

these conferences remind me of the task force on missionary and cults by the JCRC in the 1980's.

Lots of information that accomplished nothing. Kids not rescued by academics or bloggers. Just like kids back then only rescued by folks like Hillel Zeitlin and Rabbi Yehuda Fine. Fine was feared by groups big time. Especially Hebrew Christian groups. Why? He did the outreach and the work and did it for free.

Zeitlin brilliant. Caring and compassionate.
Fine went on to street kids and moms deep in need of rescue in the back alleys of the charadi world and went underground. Why not? Last time i spoke to him his comment was conferences are fine but a waste of time doing the work of rescue.

He did mention the only person of note above ground is in Israel and her name is Sheri Oz and of course she is not at any of these conferences runs a center and is prof at Bar Ilan.

Lots of PH.D's come out of these conferences. Nice press. Nice pats on the back. Very serious people but folks in trouble do not go near these people. They know better than to trust people who parade in public, blog, run websites, etc.

so the question is what are we accomplishing? Answer..conferences and files on predators and some nice newspaper clippings. The clippings are important but do not kid yourselves folks these people have little or nothing to do with with people coming out of the shadow for help.

It's amazing that Archie Bunker admits to not knowing alot about the case and then bases his judgements on what he has read on blogs instead of reviewing the Court's decisions. This just goes to show you that there is no way to reason with conspiracy theorists. I repeat-if Neustein and Lesher are correct, then let them show the public on their respective web sites
the 133 page decision finding Neustein guilty of child neglect. And let them show the public the other 50 pages of decisions which gave custody to the father, denied the Neustein's motion for a change in custody and which eventually took away Neustein's visitation rights. What do Neustein and Lesher have to hide?

I mentioned that David Dinkins was employed as a men's room attendant (at the Rainbow Room I believe) before entering politics. Anyone can get that job and you must be the racist if you think the position is only suitable for a Black man.

The point is that Dinkins is an absolute failure and any positive review he conducted of judges that were proven to be corrupt is just more proof that there was criminality and a real conspiracy, not an imagined one.

Again, there is plenty of information available from govt sources that the corrupt judges being touted by Susan / Vicky were gotten to. Is there something wrong Vicky if bloggers excerpt from those sources?

Its so sad that throughout the period of the Neustein saga people kept on touting the line that they are only interested in what is "in the best interests of the child" but now that she has decided to speak out, no one wants to listen, or even cares what she has to say. Hey Archie/Michael, your agenda is showing.

I do not know "Susan Green" or "Archie Bunker" but I do know Amy Neustein. She is a pathological liar and a despicable human being who would sell her soul to the devil to gain the notoriety she has received. I would encourage people to read the comments section of the Village Voice article "My Brother the Slumlord". There are some amazingly astute observations about Amy by readers who never even met her and yet after having read the article nailed her character.
