I have an autistic grandaughter and a child with Aspberger's syndrome(similar characteristics but on a less dramatic level) and I can fully empathize with Leah's explanation of hiding certain things from Moshe. My grandaughter has an obsession with DVD's and would tear the house apart if her favorite was not available. They also have to keep a lock on their refrigerator or she would eat herself sick. Despite this, in the Rubashkin case, he has already proven he can't be trusted when he ran up to Agri to destroy more evidence after his first release. This isn't about the "Law of Return," it's about using dirty money and clout to hire attorneys who know how to twist the law to their client's advantage through the media. Shame on them for gaining sympathy by using his disabled son as an excuse to gain his freedom. He should be pretty cocky by now- it will be interesting to hear the next blunder that puts him back in jail. I'd be real suspicious of any piles of dirt in his backyard!

On the blog entry here yesterday about the family's press release, it was stated the the receiver, Joseph Sarachek, submitted an affadavit to the court. We don't know what is in that affadavit. It could be a "for he's a jolly good fellow" statement. Or, the receiver could have certified to the court he fired the defendent.

Your paraphrasing sentence is misleading and mostly inaccurate. You implied that he violated laws or release conditions after his release. He did none of that and did not violate any laws. He did what any average citizen would, including you and Shmarya, if you learned that you were being investigated for alleged fraud. That's not any indication of trust or mistrust.

I emailed it to an attorney (white-collar criminal defense in NY) and just received her response. She says you don't know what you're talking about. She says that although that paragraph does state that Sholom allegedly obstructed justice, it also further clarifies clearly that he allegedly did so with respect to computer files. She added that it does not allege so with respect to the thumb drive. The attorney also said that prosecutors don't have a problem saying things the way they are and usually do. She is of the opinion that it would have stated the allegation in a clearer manner regarding the thumb drive if it was being alleged so.
