you should get a job

Gee, I thought it was the Haraidim who were a bunch of shnorers.
Posted by: Un-Orthodox and Unimpressed | September 22, 2008 at 08:49 AM
I have a proven successful method of fundraising. YOU GET A JOB AND BECOME A PRODUCTIVE MEMBER OF SOCIETY.
Posted by: Anon | September 22, 2008 at 08:57 AM
Well, I guess THESE guys won't be sending you any money. N
Posted by: | September 22, 2008 at 09:16 AM
That was me. I hope others will contribute. You do a real public service here.
Posted by: Rachel Batya | September 22, 2008 at 09:18 AM
In the next few days, i will be sending $200.
The rest of you imbeciles who criticize shmayra can support yeshivas (who send out their students to schnorr for them) who allow our and your children and grandchildren to get molested.
And, Anon, Do you inform a rosh yeshiva when he tells his talmidim not to get a job or to go to college that he is preventing them from making a decent living and becoming a productive member of society ?? Why do you give them a pass ??
Just make believe that Shmayra is learning in Kollel. Except that he is not asking for $100,000 up front from his future father-in-law.

--In the next few days, i will be sending $200.--
Why not today?
--Why do you give them a pass ??--
I don't give anyone a pass. But at least they convince themselves that they are following some higher calling that warrants their asking the rest of us for money. Shmarya doesn't do squat. If he were to get off his behind and actually do something to address the issues he blogs about I would consider donating. But for doing nothing other than blogging - if he wants I'll mail him my the leftovers from my Rubashkin salami sandwitch so that he has something to eat.
--Except that he is not asking for $100,000 up front from his future father-in-law.--
duh, of course not. He can't even find a girl willing to date him.
Posted by: Anon | September 22, 2008 at 10:26 AM
I find it ironic that people who frequently post anonynmous vicious remarks keep coming back regularly to read the blog.
Posted by: Jen | September 22, 2008 at 10:39 AM
Ok. I will do it today. Thanks !
Shmayra job is to expose the issues. Our leaders job is to address and resolve them.
I'm sure that he can "find" a girl. But he is obviously on a higher mission. You know. like exposing the present and shameful injustices, and also the ones that have occurred for the past 60 years perpetrated by the orthodox jewish establishment.

There was this German fellow who also didn't get married because he was on a higher mission.
But then, as Berlin fell and the end was near he married her a day before committing suicide.

I'll Paypal today too. What about the Lone Wanker, Getzel? His family gave Reb Ariel Sokolovsky a whopping ten dollars.

UO: It is ridiculous and trivializing of the Shoah to implicitedly compare Shmarya to Hitler. If you hate him so much, don't waste you time reading his blog.

I will give $300. its the money I saved by not eating meat since the original raid in May.
better it goes to shmarya who uses it to fight corruption in the charedi community.
Posted by: Gid Hanasher | September 22, 2008 at 12:41 PM
Yo - I never mentioned the Holocaust. There is more to Adolf Hitler than the Holocaust just as there is more to Shmarya than his hatred of all things Orthodox.
They share the claim to 'on a higher mission'.
What is the use of giving up Orthodoxy if your going to spend your whole life wottying about it? Time to move on.
And why should I stop reading his blog? It is very entertaining.

--I find it ironic that people who frequently post anonynmous vicious remarks keep coming back regularly to read the blog.--
Amazing, isn't it? Apparently, some people have nothing better to do than to keep repeating that Shmarya should have something better to do than running this blog that some people have nothing better to do than to read and to post to about how Shmarya should have something better to do than running this blog.
Who would do this for free? If you can afford it, send the man some money.

On TV we can watch reality shows but don't get to comment as the poor bastards make fools of themselves.
Here we get to watch the workings of a brain on an anger overdose and even get to comment on it.
What a deal!
Posted by: Un-Orthodox and Unimpressed | September 22, 2008 at 02:48 PM
Ever notice how pissed off people are that Shmarya is angry? They're so angry that Shmarya is angry. He should stop being so angry. Then they wouldn't be angry anymore. But till then, they're going to be very, very angry, all because Shmarya is angry.
And what is he angry at? Trivia! Child molestation. Animal cruelty. Bigotry. Wow, that Shmarya--he really sweats the small stuff. No wonder he makes people so angry.
I wonder what these people were like before Shmarya started this blog and drew them in with his super powers.

Israel law enforcement works differently than many other countries.
From the time of first questioning to trail can take a couple years.
Expect more news in this fall, I'd think.

--I wonder why people are obsessed with Shmarya's marital status?--
You mean, all those interminable (and cleverly original) posts that say, "Shmarya, you should get a woman"? They're talking about themselves. If there were a woman in the house, she'd have hit them upside the head already for spending so many fruitless hours on this topic.

I gave $300. I was going to give to my Shul's Kol Nidre appeal, but I think this cause is more worthwhile.

Bechira Chofsheet (apologies to Rush. Geddy Lee is MOT)
There are those who think that Judaism
Has nothing left to chance
With a host of holy horrors
To direct our fabrengen dance
An Ohel of playthings
We dance on the tzitzit
Of powers who love to deceive
The opposition's not aligned ---
And the rebbe-gods are malign
Blame is better to give than receive
You can choose a ready guide
In some rabbinic voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice
You can choose from phantom chumrot
And blindness that can kill
I will choose a derech that's clear
I will choose free will
There are those who think that they've been dealt a losing hand
The [rabbi]cards were stacked against them ---
They must eat from the Rubbishcan
All preordained
Like Yosef in chains
A victim of venomous bretheren
Kicked in the face
You can pray for a place
In a rebbe's unearthly Sanhedrin
Each of us
A cell of awareness
Imperfect and incomplete
A Failed Messiah
With a heart on fire
On a truth hunt
That won't be defeated...

why not pay for your entertainment do you pay for cable or go to baseball game movie.
Look at it this way by exposing it he is doing something, without exposure nothing will be done, since very few would know about it. Or, the public will be in the dark and the powers to be will feel no heat from the public and not do anything about it.
in history many things changed because of the press and now bloggers
Shmarya, does a good job and most of the times backs up what he says with facts. You might not agree with his conclusion but at lest he does not talk out of his ass like many people who commnet here

So, by that line of 'thought', it would be wrong to describe a person's mustache by saying it was the same style as Hitler's.
Correct?

Are you suggesting that's all you think you did? Because everyone here read "There was this German fellow who also didn't get married because he was on a higher mission.
But then, as Berlin fell and the end was near he married her a day before committing suicide."
Like I said - you don't need my help. You're doing a FINE job in the "making an ass on oneself" department.
Posted by: Rebitzman | September 24, 2008 at 04:35 PM
At least I'm not on a 'higher mission' like the failure who sits in his mother's bunker finding fault with everyone but himself.
Whoops. Basement.

Is that really true that the Rubashkins donated money to Sokolovsky?
Posted by: Archie Bunker | September 25, 2008 at 08:26 AM
This blog is a true public service. A donation to Shmayra is a much better value then a "donation" to the Cunin Telethon.
Posted by: Anonymous | September 25, 2008 at 12:14 PM
To Un-Orthodox and Unimpressed (unintelligent and clueless),
It is great that you are starting to compare Jews to Hitler, something the Palestinian propagandists love to do. Sometimes, people's posts reflect their own insecurities. Channeling Sigmund Freud (a Jewish psychologist) :) , you must living in your mother's basement and have a thing for German men with mustaches. Maybe, un-orthodox, you should get a job and stop spending your time making posts that disrespect the memories of the people that died in the Shoah (holocaust).

AB, it is true. But he said they only gave him ten dollars. It is posted on FM and it was before Ariel himself asked for help for a woman. Some of us gave him money btw. I pestered him til he admitted rubash-in gave him money. After that things went further downhill with his claiming I myself must be taking money from somewhere and so on.
Posted by: yidandahalf | September 25, 2008 at 01:37 PM
Jerome,
Mentioning that Shmarya suffers from similar symptoms of mental illness as did Adolf Hitler is no more equating the two than if I mentioned that Shmarya walks with a similar gait as JFK would be the same as equating the two of them.
I noted that the two of them seemed to suffer from similar personality disorders. That in no way means I consider them to be equally evil.
The memories of the six million kedoshim is neither respected or disrespected by my comments.
As for getting a job, I was thinking of going on a 'higher mission' so I could give up my efforts at supporting the family. Sure relieved Shmarya of that task.

uh oh. R has given Shmarya another Higher Mission. Watch Out. The rest of the letters might be in big trouble.
Should we expect a new blog - Failed Alphabet?
BTW, R, Are you the same R I heard about on TV the other day? My granddaughter was watching TV and I heard an announcer at the end of the show announce "Today's Sesame Street was brought to you by the numbers 3 and 7 and the letter R".
Relative of yours, perhaps?

--UO: Why attack the person who goes by R? Has this person done anything to you? --
Yochanan, UO is all over the map, and is just playing with people in snide, silly, and juvenile ways. Sometimes he acts like an ultra-Orthodox guy who hates Shmarya; sometimes, he sounds like an un-Orthodox guy trying to help the MO get free of the ultra-O.
But most of the time, he just sounds like a contemptuous guy who enjoys confounding people and jerking them around, and who thinks he's therefore more clever than everyone else. When we respond, he sometimes answers with an actual argument, but most of the time he posts the equivalent of "Huh?" as though he didn't understand the question or you didn't understand his response.
He thinks his game is fun, and that is his right. I don't, so I don't play.

Posted by: Un-Orthodox and Unimpressed | September 25, 2008 at 09:08 PM
And I am not trying to help the Modern Orthodox (or anyone else) free themselves of the Ultra Orthodox (or anyone else).
I merely point out that the Modern Orthodox are just as much to blame as anyone else so they have no right to try and sound better than the Haraidim.

I read the blog periodically to try to understand an alternative POV. the reason I wouldn't contribute to ithe blog -- and discourage others from contributing -- is because the blog is as narrow minded as it portrays the orthodox. Like most things, orthodox Judiasm has many beautiful features; unfortunately it has areas for improvement, often because "orthodox" are not adhering to tenets of the faith. To focus on flaws w/o ever recognizing the good is a serious character flaw of the blog and its leader.
