I think there's a lot that goes into being black and that lends inself to the accents they have.

UB40 had some good songs, but they, like so many, did some stealing to hijack "cool" from a place they didn't come from. That's not really artistic expression.

Imagine a non-Jewish comedian affecting a Yiddish accent to sound funnier. Personally, I can do a great and very cute one. However, I doubt I'd win many friends in certain circles.

I like Matisyahu, I like what he sings about, what he says, I like his energy even though I can't honestly say he is that good. But I guess here he is selling clothes? No way will he sell anything with that green shmatte - this I have a problem with. The whole video is douchy beyond words, and it could have been cool as hell. I hope he can get better gigs, he deserves them and we need him. We need something besides this constant parade of vaudeville coming out of Brooklyn and it's satellite communities these days.
