If anyone actually bothers (or is able...) to read the Hebrew, they would notice that the "radical settler rabbi organization" is advising *sefardim* (you know, many of whom are themselves non-Moslem Arabs) not to eat in restaurants which rely on an *Ashkenazic* heter.
Nice conspiracy though. Care to tackle the Kennedy assassination next?

Sfardim not eating in meat restauraunts wiht a ashkenazi Hechsher makes sense.
Ashkenazim do not require the level of " glatt" as mandated by the Beit Yossef which is the standard required by Sfardim.
Can you post the link to the Hebrew article?

Strange that is viewed as an anti arab plot.
A new person took over my local kosher mini market take out place.
All of the Mexican employees that worked for the previous owner ( who was a thief) are still working there.
The same kashrut agency gives the hasgacha.
BUT BUT BUT now the non Jews are not permitted to put anything in the oves, on the cooktop etc.
Why? Because the new owner is a Sfardi who has decided to run his store whihc is in a ashkenazic neighborhood according to the Beit Yossef. While in the past it was sufficient for a jew to ignote the flame now that doesn't work.A Jew must place the food on the flame etc.
Note that the store only sells Beit Yossef meat. And although he will sell chicken/ turkey products from companies like 999 he sells no cold cuts or frank ( meat ) that is made by any of these companies. INstead he makes his own salamies and franks from Beit Yosef slaughtered meat.
Is he anit Mexican, no.

the original was posted against the will of the author (who admits that it was a draft, and several details of certain places may not have been correct), so I'm not reposting it here. However, his note for sefardim was that in Y-m, the Rabbanut mehadrin hashgacha relies on the ram"a vis-a-vis bishul akum, and therefore should not be relied upon by sefardim.

Shamarya, It is a bit more delicate than you are making it.
There are many places that must hire Arabs for their kitchens according to Government Law.
An example is the Kosher free soup kitchen on Yafo St. as you approach the central bus station.
It is run by a very sincere sefardi family. They however must hire arabs or they are not eligible for funding. Another example is Hebrew University.
This is really part of a effort to cease hiring people that want to kill us.
Thisd is by making it illegal under Jewish Law to hire them.

I admire most of your work.
I have disagreed sometimes. E.G.
Your piece of Reb Shmuel Berenbaum was not right. Don't attack real Talmidai Chachamim. Attack the phonies all you like.
And In this piece it is important not to attack the settlers. You are putting yourself on the wroing side of things.

The settlers are clearly in the wrong.
Posted by: Sarah | August 23, 2008 at 02:37 PM
how exactly are the settlers in the wrong?
because they prefer not to eat poisoned food?

Sigh.
One plot, never carried out, that is 6 years old. And in what passes for your logic, all Arabs should be banned from being waiters and cooks as a result.
Please.
