Two Agriprocessors supervisors arrested
BY JENS MANUEL KROGSTAD, COURIER STAFF WRITER
POSTVILLE — Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested two Agriprocessors supervisors this morning in Postville on criminal charges, said Bob Teig, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa.
The supervisors will make court appearance later today in District Court in Cedar Rapids. Teig said no further details are yet available.
On May 12, ICE agents raided Agriprocessors and arrested 390 workers on illegal immigration and identity theft charges.
Officials called it the largest single-site raid in history.

This is very good news, as it appears that the wheels of justice are in proper motion.
Certainly, this is just the beginning of what will me more arrests in the future.
I hope the authorites or on good lookout, in case anyone tries to flee the country, as one did recently.

Scotty, do yo work or do you sit at home all day refreshing your browser for Rubashkin news to post?
Serious question, I REALLY want know.

Scotty will answer for himself.
But if Moses suddenly appeared today and was made aware of the sordid history of Rubashkin abuses against G-d and man, one would witness continuous condemnation the like of which has not been seen since our Prophets were in business.
So if you think that FM posters are harsh, think again.

I already got the headline for the 5W spin: Agri supervisors bribed by Conservative Jews.

Now that it is clear that the Feds are going after individuals, it will be telling whether any of the Rubashkins are arrested. I'm sure they will be the prime target if there is any evidence against them. On the other hand, if they are not prosecuted then it would provide some credence to their claims that they weren't personally involved in any of the immigration hanky panky that was going on there.

These were ICE arrests. Rubashkins will most likely go down via the IRS and/or DOJ, perhaps with RICO.

++wow, you must be excited, isn't this great news?++
For those of us who keep kosher, and live in a part of the country where Rubashkin is the ONLY available kosher meat this is anything BUT great news.
That said - it is what it is, and engaging in denial or the straight out character assassination that the right is bring against Scott and others who would simply bring the facts to the table does nothing to change those facts.

look, if these arrrests arent about getting the real culprits...then all this is is a big show
justice needs to show that rubashkin was aware and complicit in all or most of the illegal activities which were occuring in the plant
justice needs to show that the ou and other authorities were also complicit, and bring further question to the kashrut of the plant and the overall ou certification
if they only arrest and convict the little guy, these practices will continue

"These were ICE arrests. Rubashkins will most likely go down via the IRS and/or DOJ, perhaps with RICO."
There is no reason why Rubashkin cannot be arrested several times by different agencies on different charges. Say if there is any funny business with foreign imports / exports, he could also be arrested by CBE or even the enforcement arm of the Commerce Dept who are empowered to make arrests. DSS (State Dept's Diplomatic Security Service) could also get involved due to foreign mashgichim who abuse R-1 class (religious) visas. Some rabbis have actually been wondering if the OU has had any role here in aiding & abetting this kind of lawbreaking.

[Some rabbis have actually been wondering if the OU has had any role here in aiding & abetting this kind of lawbreaking.]
If this can be proved in a court of law, then the OU and othe complicit organizations, I feel, must also be tried and convicted.

The boys from OU, are the only organization able to call a pig KOSHER, as long as the color is GREEN!.. Just look at their track record with the Lanner debacle. They would rather go down with the ship, then do what is right, even to this day.
How can anyone trust their oversight in any matter, perttaining to Kashrus!

Baruch: kashrus? That should be spelled "cash-root."
