Leibel Tropper is the Jewish equivalent of the sports star who was a;lways too talented to be disciplined and eventually gets into big trouble. His father was a long time first grade Rebbi at RJJ and although Leibel and I are the same age, I remeber his father as an old man. Leibel was sent to Telz for high school but never attended the High School, only the Beis Midrash. No one told him that there are rules. I met up with him at Yeshivah Torah Or in Yerushalayim. He was brilliant and charismatic, but very undisciplined. Withdrawing his own conversion is the equivalent of holding your breath till you turn blue in the face. It is a childish temper tantrum. Unfortunately, some people take him seriously, and he causes much damage to others.
Do not allow him to speak in your shuls. If he is in your neighborhood protest and picket. The man uses halacha for his own benefit and does not care who he hurts.

I do not think the keyruv movement is bad , maybe some practices inside it that are bad. Leibel Tropper is one of them. Characterizing the leaders in the keyruv movement as Leib Tropper’s looks and thinks alike characters does disservice to the truth and feels like having Kolko as a representative of the rabbis who teach in yeshivas

I am sure most people in the keyruv movement would denounce Tropper and his methods.

this is your major update? Bios of some of the Rabbis involved? In any case, you distorted the basis for Rabbi Sherman's ruling in his bio. You also fail to mention that the proceedings Rabbi Sherman was absent from were just evidentiary proceeding. There is no reason a judge can't participate in the final ruling just because he was not present at every single evidentiary proceeding. That would be the equivalent of asserting that Rabbi Druckman couldn't participate in a conversion if he didn't personally give the convert lessons about Judaism. The equivalent of what Rabbi Druckman did would be if Rabbi Sherman certified that he served as a judge in a divorce proceeding if he was not present at the time the Get was handed from the husband to the wife. Lastly, you intentionally misprepresent that Rabbi Sherman's ruling was based on Rabbi Druckman signature on a single conversion certificate he was not present at. There were other basis for the ruling and even in this regard the allegation was that he did so 100s of times, not once, and even after he was reprimanded and agreed not to do so any more.

There is no reason a judge can't participate in the final ruling just because he was not present at every single evidentiary proceeding. In halakha, a judge has to hear the testimony from all sides – all testimony.

Sherman heard testimony from only ONE side.

And he ruled on the case anyway.

He also had a major conflict of interest and the president of the rabbinic courts, Rabbi Amar, told Sherman to recuse himself.

Sherman refused.

That is in no way halakhicly comparable to conversion, where a court does not need to hear any evidence and where there are not two sides.

As you know (but fail to disclose) what Rabbi Druckman did is appoint an agent to act for him. That has halakhic validity. The only issue in Druckman's case was whether that action had validity in secular law. Druckman thought it did. The AG disagreed. The chief rabbis asked (not ordered – asked) Druckman to stop. Druckman agreed.

The first Jewcy piece was originally longer and had the backgrounds of the various rabbis woven in it. Jewcy wanted two shorter pieces.

The first one ran a few weeks ago. I took the basic info cut from the first and wrote the second piece at that time.

The original article, BTW, was written 6 months ago. Jewcy took it, but then had trouble deciding how to deal with its length and with the complexity of the subject for non-Orthodox Jews.

What Leib Tropper doesn't tell you is that he refused to give his first wife a GET and then one day while he is giving a Torah class in Manhattan, in walks a professional career model in HOT PANTS. Tropper felt something in his own pants getting hot and decides this hot mamma is the one he is going to marry. He immediately ships her off to Israel for a quick immersion in orthodox Judaism, convinces her to give him
20,000 dollars so his first wife will accept a GET no questions asked... marries her several weeks later and annoints her "rebbetzen." She is a genuinely nice woman who despite being absolutely beautiful, has low self-esteem and is currently trapped in an emotionally abusive controlling relationship. Rebbetzen Leiba serves as Tropper's meal ticket, working 12hours a day to support him while he plays rosh yeshiva and hits on other younger hot little things while she is out. It's really not shocking to read that he abuses his twin daughters where child protective services had to step in. It's been long rumored the real reason Tropper got into the conversion business was just to be able to ask women to take their clothes off when they took a dip in the mikveh.

If Rebbetzen Leiba is reading this, she should know that she mustn't suffer in silence. People know the truth and will understand why one must leave such a man. You really deserve so much better.

Not only Tropper refused to give a Get to the poor Ms. Leah Tropper (nee Margolin) he also used to beat the shit out of her. I wonder if he beats Liba as well. Some hot temper the rabbi has....

Tropper was later caught on tape having phone sex with a woman he was converting and extorting her to have actual sex with friends of his. And then there's the video tape of Tropper watching his wife and that potential convert in bed.

Tropper didnt only extort the woman he was converting to have sex with his "friends" (i.e. the "Satmar guy" he spoke about on the phone recording posted on youtube)but was giving her money "on condition" and when she refused, he said he "isnt a piggy bank" and therefore wanted a contract in writing!!!! Thank G-d for internet technology or who would have believed all of this?

But now the world knows the truth about this menuvel. The truth needs to be told so that we can kick the fakers and hypocrite rabbis out of our communities and not let them sully the truly righteous rabbis among us.

My only question is why wasn't the US Attorney called in to prosecute the menuvel for transporting a woman cross state lines? Tropper the pimp deserves to get much more time in jail than Kushner. Who let Tropper off?
