lubavitch is the SCOURGE of australian judaism.

if it wasn't such a scandal, it would be just sad, or better a farce, how certain lubavitch rabbis take to their bimahs on shabbat and declare whole sections of the normative community "goyim" or worse---and the little sheep march out of the shuls and basically ignore it all.

why are these folks (community leaders) goyim? because they are demanding that before any institution which has a loobbie at its head requests communal funds, they must open their books and be a transparent agency. this is not going to happen.

in the past 5 years, we seem to average annually a scandal of the sort of engels in south australia. these scandals always seem to get referred to beitei din overseas with no relief and so, they are then back here in the public courts, where what the public sees are two sets of hairy, black hatted mobsters from crown heights and melbourne and sydney argue, lie and perjure themselves about skuzzy ways of bilking money from the rest of the community and the commonwealth government.

and this is now how the average australian sees all jews; not as haredim or chassidim but as thieving affiliates of the black hatted wonders from crown heights.

and something else re: kashrut: to beable to get teh "list" of what is kosher in australia (and for some reason it changes almost weekly) one must become a fee-paying member of the KA (Kashrut Authroity overseen by moshe gutnick). so inorder to be able to buy and consume kosher food, first one must pay about A$50 annually for "the book" and then for the updates amd then get hocked occasionally for donations; this is just to be abel to buy kosher. the kosher producers have to pay big sums upfront to get their hechsher (and the KA hechshers food produced in far away china, go figure!)

in sydney, we have one kosher slaughterer (overseen by lubavitch after they bought out and killed the other longterm kosher slaughterer's business and rep); in melbourne, one can get non-loobie meat for personal use but not for use by the caterers. melbourne meat is cleaner, looks more like real meat, is fresher, but according to the loobies, it isnt' REALLY kosher. non-loobie meat was sent over for a while by a shochet in western australia to a shop in sydney run by his son: gutnick litterally went after that poor man and withing less than a month had it closed down, againts all the Fair TRading Laws.
