Hitler's Mascot Secret Jew
It seems the little 5-year-old boy used as a mascot by the SS and featured in Nazi propaganda during World War Two is a Jew named Galprin originally from Belarus. He lived as a non-Jew after his shtetl was liquidated by the SS and continued to live as a non-Jew after moving to in Australia shortly after WW2. His story is told for the first time in a book written by his son.

Well, this is now the second example of a Jewish boy who survived as a "mascot" for the SS; the first being the story of the boy, Solly Perel, which became the basis of the movie,"Europa, Europa."
AS time goes on, we are learning that more and more Jews survived as members of the Nazi armed forces, either as deracinated Jews or as 'submarines'.
Personally, I think that almost any means that JEws were able to survive that era (aside from the infamous Jew-catchers, i.e. Stella), is a victory for the Jewish people.

and, yona, if you haven't noticed, this blog covers more than just haredi scandals. seems to me, it tries to look at places the jewish world doesn't really like to acknowledge in many ways.

True story about a member in my shul of old.
He was in the Polish army, when the hun invaded Poland. A german officer got up and asked for volunteers to work in German war factories-he volunteered and since he had enough interaction with being with non-Jews in the Polish army- he could easily fake being non-Jewish. Jews generally avoided going in the Polish army and who would suspect somebody Jewish volunteering to go to germany.
