Student Beaten, Stabbed In Ponevitch Yeshiva Conflict
Israel's preeminent haredi yeshiva has seen another outbreak of violence. The Jerusalem Post reports:
Meanwhile Wednesday, a 20-year-old Ponevezh Yeshiva student was severely beaten and stabbed by a number of assailants. Police said the youth, from Jerusalem, was attacked inside the yeshiva building and evacuated to Sheba Hospital in moderate condition.
The stabbing, police said, appeared to be part of an internal turf war at the prestigious Lithuanian yeshiva, which has been torn apart recently by rivaling rabbis fighting for control of the institution.
However, Ponevezh yeshiva students denied police claims that the incident was related to the ongoing feud between rabbinic camps vying for control of the yeshiva.

Yosef:
There is very littel difference between the fundamentalists in each religion-they all believe in a book thousands of years old which they believe is the word of God (at least their interpretationof it is). Ultimately its a tribal fight for sex, money and control of others.
If you look at Islam 100 years ago and current Haredi practice you'll notice little difference. When pushed the islamist used whatever force they choose to protect their turf. The same to a soemwhat lesser extent can be said of the hareidi when you see them stone and beat up people at the Kotel including the deputy chief of the Israeli army.
