Judaism is not necesarily in favor of a democracy or any other specific system of goverment
Each has it's advantages and disadvantages.
Putin's "benevolent authocracy" is good for Chabad and good for the Jews like the Rebbe Almighty promised that He will change the Anti-Jewish Communist regime in Soviet Union to "tov tzedek and yoshar" - good, justice and honesty...
There is alot of good since late 80s early ninties even Rabbis Goldshmidt and Shaevich would agree with that...
