I thought it was very good. The only critique is that she seemed to focus more on people with personal issues with religious restrictions rather than on people with theological differences with their groups.

The book would have been far more interesting if she had examined the ideas of intelligent people who had made a success of their lives after leaving the chasidic world.
Making a person with severe emotional problems the center of the book was a terrible mistake.
