I don't identify or even associate with either groups of folks pictured. I guess that leaves me in the middle.

By the grace of G-d
Shalom uBrocha!
Why do you think burning Israeli flag as a form of protest is such a terible thing?
When the corrupt goverment asisted by corupt judiciary throws out people of their homes destroys their communities burns down the sinagogues of those communities what can one excpect from the people?

AS
Surprisingly, you make sense here. ;)
But your reasoning is circular. There were even Germans in WWII that fought for Germany, but despised Naziism and Hitler. They would not have burned the German flag. Burning the flag does not show disdain for the current government, but for the state. But if there is no state, then there is no logic for Jewish rule of Israel anyway. So if you burn the flag, in essence you are saying that the soldiers, the government, and by extension, YOU (who were put there by the Israeli government), never belonged there in the first place.
All fantasies of a religious, Torah law, shariya government aside, those people would never have been there until today without the Israel that the flag represents.

I was wondering why is it that you never have anything good to report.

Huh?

hmm burning bush... in the first picture the flag is clearly not being consumed some idiot put fire over it in photoshop its not that hard to tell

Uhh, Josh – Published in many newspapers, witnessed by reporters and other observers, admitted to by some settlers. The image isn't photoshopped. It's the lighter fluid on the flag that burns first. Several seconds after that the material bursts into flames. The star was probably not visable in later pictures because of that.

Why is it that the Rebbe's name (who was a great supporter of Israel) is listed in the credits for the flag burning done by Notrei Karta, a group that has nothing to do with Lubavich?
Posted by: YG | August 28, 2005 at 02:45 AM
Similarly, why are the names of a former chief Rabbi of Israel and another great Rabbi also listed here in an unrelated set of images?
