out of curiosity, why is this linked to chabad theology? (not that's its a shameful use of the holocaust either for that matter)

Shrillness was the weapon of choice this time around, but in this case it was justified. The indication of the yellow stars and holocaust symbols were only to point out that only Jews, not Arabs, would be banned from Gaza. Arabs are not going to banned from living anywhere they choose, within or without Israel, Gaza or Yesha. That is a legitimate point and the symbolism of Naziism striving for Judenrein places is entirely justified. I am only sorry that the other symbolism has been so oversed that it makes cases like this less potent.

Because everything that happens in the world is related to Chabad theology as far as this blog goes.
Like the old joke blaming the jews and the bicycle riders.
Everything is Chabad's fault.
Try and lower your credibility even more.

No, because Chabad made the Holocaust analogy. I've blogged about it, the Forward has written about it as have other media.

So, if Israel expelled all Arabs from the West Bank, making it Arab-rein, would Arabs be justified in making a Holocaust analogy? Because the right wing wants to do that (there just isn't a practical way to do so now). Are they therefore Nazis?
Jew went to Gaza knowing that they may one day be forced to leave in a land for peace deal. Today they had to leave. Sad, but not unexpected.

If Israel expelled all Arabs from the West Bank, making it Arab-rein, then SHMARYA along with all other self hating Jews would be the first to make the Holocaust analogy.

If Israel expelled all Arabs from the West Bank, making it Arab-rein:
And it were part of a deal where X will not live here, but here, and Y will not live here but here, and the purpose to allow a separation for a set period of time, then it would be a peace deal at least. If the conclusion is that only certain people can not live here or there because they have no "rights", whereas other people have "rights" and can live where they like, it would seem to be racist, by definiton.
If the Arabs responded by voluntarily withdrawing from Galil, you might have a point. That's happening very soon.

Chabad isn't even represented in these protests. You just got a bug up your butt against them.

Modify this: Today his children or grandchildren had to leave, knowing that, even though they are NATIVE TO GAZA, moreso than any Palestinian, and they will never be able to return, even to visit Zaydi's grave.

Incidentally, you should update your UPDATE about acid being thrown on the police in Gaza. It seems that this was false.

Turns out it was paint thinner. And the net difference is...??? It was still an embarassing display on the part of the people on the roof, designed to injure and incite. Thank G-d there was no igniting agent, or this would've been an even larger tragedy.

That is a risk the settlers assumed when they first settled Gaza.
Posted by: Shmarya | August 22, 2005 at 03:25 PM
The people who first settled Gaza are not the same people who were evacuated. 2 generations have grown up there. The same can be said to the Arabs. Your fathers in 1967 were willing to leave the land. Why do you insist on a "right of return"?
Posted by: rebeljew | August 22, 2005 at 03:35 PM
Rebel –
This is largely false. Most of Gaza's original settlers are still alive.
Posted by: Shmarya | August 22, 2005 at 03:48 PM
Further, they settled KNOWING their children or grandchildren may be forced to leave.
