Rabbi Hirsh Ginsberg, 'Chief Justice' Of Agudas HaRabbonim Defends Infamous Brooklyn Bundler, Attacks Forward

Rabbi Hirsh Ginsberg, the 'Chief Justice' (and secretary, receptionist and maintenence man) of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada, also known as Agudas HaRabbonim, has a long letter in the March 18, 2005 Forward defending Rabbi Milton Balkany. Rabbi Balkany, Sholom Rubashkin's brother-in-law is noted for both his generosity and for playing fast and loose with the law, has been scandal-ridden for years.

Rabbi Ginsberg strongly objects to using the term "Brooklyn Bundler" to refer to Rabbi Balkany, who he characterizes as a man of generosity and kindness.

Apparently diverting almost $1,000,000 in Federal grants meant for the disabled into business projects controlled by his family is not a crime in Rabbi Ginsberg's court and is, in fact, behavior to be praised.

I went to RJJ when he was Menahel.one thing unified the Yeshiva,hatred of Ginzburg.

His reputation speaks for itself. The agudas horabbonim 's last remaining serious members should meet and dissolve this sacred organization now controlled by 1 man.

I don't know Rabbi Balkany I'm not trying to defend him but simply am pointing out the dishonest reporting of FailedMessiah.com to warn readers to take everything posted here with a grain of salt.

PS:I think to be consistent Shmarya must also criticize the behaviour of the Berditchever Rebbe zt"l defending Jews next to Rabbi Ginsberg.

A mussar master I believe the mashgiach of Baranowitz HYD once remarked if one is walking at night and notes someone climbing into someone's house through a back window, ONE NEED NOT BE MELAMED ZECHUS on that person and one should call the cops. The Berdichever was melamed zechus on Jews who were sinners in regards beynAdam Lemakom . I very much he would be melamed zechus on a Jew who stole another Jews money or created a chilul hashem.He would not defend such behavior.
