Israel: YU Degrees Not Accepted Here
In an attempt to cut down on the number of fraudulent academic degrees used to scam Israel's socialized pay-scale system, the education ministry has decided to refuse recognition of any undergraduate degree issued by universities overseas universities that accept one year of yeshiva studies in Israel as university-level credits. In effect, this leaves all YU, Turo and many state college graduates without a valid BA. Worse yet, Masters and PhD-level degrees earned after graduating those universities are also not recognized, leading to the absurd situation of holders of valid PhD's being paid the same wage as high school graduates.
Read it all here.
Want to complain? Here is the contact information for Education Minister Limor Livnat and other senior ministry employees.
Penn also accepts a year of Yeshiva for credit. Is a degree from Penn in the same catagory?

Israelis who think that they are clever and behave as if they were so , in effect, have always practiced Minhag Sdom .
How so ? In Sdom , the person who checked @ the local inn with legs too long for the bed, had his legs cut ; that whose legs were too short , was stretched to fit !
So in Israel -modern days Sdom or Chelm ?! - they have no time for niceties & subtle nuances ! One or two people come with fake diplomas from Ich Weis College of the Appalachians , and "all" American Universities become ipso fact disqualified. What did we say ? Stalinist Sdom !
They did the same with drivers licences , some people came with fake driver licences from Novo Sdom Russia , and all drivers licences became bad . Including those of the USA , Canada , France etc...

They are also not accepting Advanced Placement credits and not validating accredited degrees if AP credits were used to fulfill graduation requirements. See my blog for the latest. Sadly I can't get this reported anywhere.
