Chabad Rabbi Adds A Mitzvah To The Torah – One Must Die Rather Than Transgress
Rabbi Sholom DovBer Wolpe, a noted Israeli-based Chabad rabbi and theologian, has this to say about Prime Minister Sharon's disengagement plan:
Rabbi Wolpe stated that one must even be willing to sacrifice one’s life to avoid any involvement in removing Jews from their homes, stating that taking part in such an act is considerably worse than eating pork on the Yom Kippur Day of Atonement.
It appears that Rabbi Wolpe has added a new mitzvah to the Torah, an act that is forbidden under Jewish law and, by many opinions, is an act that renders one a heretic.
Although Rabbi Wolpe has previously made many controversial statements, he is still a member in good standing of Chabad and is often a speaker at Chabad events.
Here is a link to one of Rabbi Wolpe's books distributed by Kehot, the Chabad-Lubavitch, Brooklyn-based publishing house. (Please note that Rabbi Wolpe's name is often transliterated as "Wolpo.")

Chabad Rabbi Pronounces Death of Disengagement
22:29 Jan 16, '05 / 6 Shevat 5765
(IsraelNN.com) Rabbi Sholom Wolpe, a prominent member of the Chabad hassidic rabbinical community today released the strongest statement yet in opposition to the Gaza Disengagement Plan.Rabbi Wolpe called on soldiers and police to refuse orders to forcibly remove Jews from areas of the Land of Israel, stating one must be willing to face jail or other punishment to avoid any involvement in such an act.
Wolpe stated that one must even be willing to sacrifice one’s life to avoid any involvement in removing Jews from their homes, stating that taking part in such an act is considerably worse than eating pork on the Yom Kippur Day of Atonement.
Responding to the statements, a Chabad spokesman pointed out that while Rabbi Wolpe is a well-known figure in the Chabad community, he is not a member of the Chabad Rabbinical Council and his views do not represent those of the Chabad movement.
Keep in mind that R. Wolpe wrote the Book Yechi HaMelech HaMoshiach and not only believes that the Lubavitcher Rebbe is still alive but that he is the currently reigning King Messiah. He is not to be taken seriously on any matter.

"He is not to be taken seriously on any matter"..... ?
who among them then is to be taken seriously when his books are sold by Kehot , just like those of the Alte Rebbe ? and those of what they call MHM ?

so what else is new?
isn't it considered NORMAL for L. to make/change/create halacha as it suits them?
yet let one of the non-orthodox movements do the same and they are considered to be, at best, no longer jewish or at worst, never jewish at all?
